The Cottage was one of the first buildings to be built in Stanhope, in 1734 (long before the adjacent Stanhope Castle) and is a Grade II listed building. Sensitively converted in 2024, from a former Florists, into luxury accommodation, the owners, Anne and her daughter Hannah, have endeavoured to retain the property’s original features including wooden sash windows, with heritage approved double glazing, exposed stone walls, beams and fireplace, whilst introducing luxury comforts such as walk in rain shower, heated towel rail, digitally controlled gas central heating, TVs and Wi-Fi in all living rooms, integrated halogen hob, oven and microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and dishwasher, Coffee Machine etc. It is conveniently situated right in the centre of Stanhope close to all local amenities with views of the Castle from the small private patio at the rear. The River Wear runs just yards from the Cottage, providing beautiful scenic walks.
